Das geht nicht! Doch im Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, einem 67 km langen Küstenabschnitt des Lake Superior in Michigan. Der ?stliche Küstenabschnitt ist gepr?gt vom Abbruch der Grand Sable Dunes; der westliche Teil von den bunten Felsen, die steil ins Wasser abfallen und am besten vom Schiff aus zu sehen sind. Durch verschiedene Mineralien sehen sie wie abstrakte Gem?lde aus. Dazwischen liegt ein Abschnitt, der nicht so hoch über dem See thront und wo man an einem fast 20 Kilometer langen Strand mit vielen bunten Steinen Spazierg?nge machen kann. (besucht 2011)

That’s not possible! Yes, it is – at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, a 43 mi stretch of Lake Superior shoreline in Michigan. The eastern shoreline is dominated by the Grand Sable Dunes outcrop; the western section by the colorful rocks that drop steeply into the water and are best seen from a boat. Different minerals make them look like abstract paintings. In between, there is a section that is not so high above the lake and where you can take walks on a beach almost 12 mile long with many colorful stones. (visited 2011)
